Kalahari December 1999

This was a memorable trip. Some of the lion sightings were really exceptional. I drove our car into a puddle that seemed to have no bottom and there we stuck. We were rescued and continued on. After that we got a puncture caused by camel thorns in the tyres. Immediately I went to a tyre place in Upington and told them that I suspected thorns may be in the other tyres as well. There were. After that on the way home we got two more flat tyres and very kind people put us up for two nights while new tyres were ordered.
